RVN Wanted - Associate Professor - Veterinary Nursing =, UCD School of Veterinary Medicine 


Applications are invited for a permanent post of an Associate Professor - Veterinary Nursing
within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
 
The appointee will be based in the Veterinary Nursing Section of the School of Veterinary Medicine. The
successful applicant will be responsible for leading the veterinary nursing academic team, curriculum review
and enhancement of the undergraduate Veterinary Nursing programme and graduate programmes as deemed
appropriate. They will also be required to deliver teaching, learning and assessment appropriate to clinical
veterinary nursing training. There may be opportunities to also deliver on the MVB or other programmes,
depending on the appointee’s skillset and workload.
 
The School encourages innovation in planning new educational initiatives, and also particularly welcomes
applications from those who can best foster collaboration with other disciplines within and outside the School. 
 
Research is pivotal to the future development of the veterinary nursing programme within the School, and the
appointee will be required to lead on a research vision for the unit, in addition to providing direction and
supervision for veterinary nursing colleagues in terms of research output and grant applications.  
 
95 Associate Professor (7941) Salary Scale: €83,339 - €117,693 Per Annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines

RVN Wanted - Clinical Research Veterinary Nurse 

​ 

​The School of Veterinary Medicine is currently seeking a clinical research veterinary
nurse to provide support for our expanding programme of clinical research. This is
an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to experience a different but
innovative aspect of veterinary nursing. This pivotal position is part of the School of
Veterinary Medicine’s strategy to further develop and enhance veterinary clinical
research. Clinical research refers to ethical studies undertaken on patients seen at
the UCD Veterinary Hospital. These studies typically involve collation of clinical data,
use of surplus samples after routine diagnostic tests are completed and potential
implementation of clinical trials for new therapies for specific diseases. All clinical
research is overseen by a team of veterinary specialists with investigations and
support from Residents, Interns and veterinary nurses. All clinical research projects
are only undertaken with informed owner consent.
 
Whilst experience of clinical research is beneficial, it is not mandatory as appropriate
training will be provided
