CPD/ Learning

The IVNA support and promote ongoing professional development by providing Irish veterinary nurses with quality CPD events nationwide.

We are committed to providing the highest standards of education through our regional meetings and annual national congress.  To make things easy, we aim to develop our event calender year on year by hosting the Dogs Trust Event in March, Summer Annual Congress in May and Autumn Roadshow in September.  It is of the utmost importance that all veterinary professionals are skilled and informed of the latest developments in animal health care by attending such events.

It is a legal requirement of practicing professionals with the Veterinary Council of Ireland to achieve annual quota of CVE credits as directed by the Veterinary Practice Act 2005.

All members can avail of discounted rates for IVNA CPD events, these events are developed specifically for nurses but all members of the veterinary profession are welcome to attend and can avail of the credits awarded by the VCI.

Continual Professional Development can take many forms, from attending clinical meetings, seminars, webinars, publishing articles, distance learning to name but a few. Further details in CVE credit allocations can be found in downloads link or by clicking on FAQ.

Through CPD we are one step closer to reaching our goal by promoting animal health, care and welfare and achieving the highest standard of veterinary nursing through the continuing advancement of professional development and ongoing education.
